Eric's Outback Insanity

This website is dedicated to my life here in Australia. On the following pages, you will be introduced to Australia with photos and accounts of various adventures. You will also meet the many friends and acquaintances I've met since arriving in 2001. And most importantly, you'll get to meet my partner in crime-the beautiful Carolita.

Western Samoa, March 2005 (Unreal!)
Middle of the Pacific Ocean, great weather, great beaches, living in beach huts and fire dancers to boot... What else to say. Highly recommended! But be ready to rough it and be ready for some big ass crabs and some hot weather.

New Zealand South Island Tour-Dec. 2004
Beautiful scenery and intense hiking tracks were the theme of this trip. 8 days was hardly enough to appreciate the south island fully. Our 4 day hike along the Kepler track was quite an experience. We were hurting for quite a few days after that. NZ south-5 stars! You'll be surprised.

Castle Hike -November 2004
This was an intense ascent of 1km. Fully loaded and charged with H2O, we headed for the Castle saddle. After completing this journey, we understood why this hike is considered to be Australia's hardest day hike.

Kozciusko High Country Ski Trip-August 2004
So I wanted to show my woman what cross country skiing was all about-Canadian style. After making the 3 hour drive from Canberra, we got the skis on and set off from Guthega. Well I tell you, after a half hour of trudging through deep snow on steep slopes with very heavy packs, we thought we were gonna die. However, the terrain flattened out and we eventually set up camp that night near the Illawong Bridge and what a night it was. Sleet, heavy winds and electrical storms were on the menu. The E-Party- July 2004
I might be biased, but this was a party for the ages. By 10 pm there must have been about 75 people at our humble suburban abode. At that point energy levels were picking up, thanks to Shangri-La's selection of fluid trance tracks. How else to react when you've got the rythmic prose of Actman and Infected Mushroom at your fingertips? The night finished off with a much needed dip in the hot spa -hey! where's that wig that was being passed around?
