My
name is Roslyn and my husband is Gerard McKearney. Gerard and I have
lived in the Riverland Region of South Australia, for all but the first
twelve months of our marriage. Prior to this we had lived in a suburb
of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. We met at a church known
as Bethesda Christian Centre, situated on Marion Road, Mitchell Park.
We were both part of the Bethesda Fellowship and at the time of our marriage
were attending the Bethesda Singles Group. We were, distinguished to be
the first to marry from the group. Our marriage took place on December
3rd, 1977
After
our marriage, we settled into Gerard's house Goodwood with Karen Elizabeth,
Gerard's then pixie like little seven year old daughter. We struggled
along trying to put together our little crew for the next few years.
Gerard's other two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Patricia Margaret (Trish),
eventually joining us, after we moved to the Riverland.
The
three girls are now grown up and making their own way in life, each have
their own children to nurture now. At the time of writing this, we
have nine grandchildren.
(Update:
17.01.2007...We now have eleven graandchildren.)
Gerard
and I are now in those middle years, where one sits back and let things
take there course. Meanwhile, we have been blessed with an ever growing,
caring relationship which has endured much but has deepened over the years.
