Some Daintree cruises capture the ambience of a tropical river system during early morning or dusk. Others pack in the crocodile spotters, by the busload. One outfit specialises in wildlife at dawn and yet others concentrate on fishing and photography. They are good value for money. Daintree cruises are all accessed from the southern or Cairns side of the river anywhere from the ferry crossing to the Daintree Village and the parking is free at venues. For those interested in wildlife this link is to a wildlife checklist for the area from Barratt Creek to the Daintree Village. Although the bulk of the cruises operate near the ferry there is no wildlife checklist for that area. Most people have their Daintree River experience at the ferry area during the day which is a good introduction to this wonderful tropical river.
