Mcloughlins beach is one of the best fishing
locations in Victoria you can fish from Boat, Jetty, Boat ramp,
Footbridge or surf beach, if fishing by boat there is vast waterways
from Mcloughlins to Port Albert. The Ocean (Bass straight) is only
10min by boat.
Woodside Township is only 10min, drive from
Mcloughlins Beach, with licensed pub and liquor bottle shop, motel,
service station, and general store.
Also there is courtesy bus for pic ups from Mcloughlins beach over
weekend periods the general store offers deliveries of groceries
as part of it's mail run but I suggest prior booking the bus or
groceries to ring to first.
Woodside Beach has a caravan park and kiosk
and licensed surf life saving club so you can safely swim between
the flags along the surf beach with a kiosk open during summer season.
The 90 Mile beach is only a 10 Min walk from
the footbridge and you're at the doorstep of your own private surf
beach.
Yarram for major items can be done at Yarram
24km's from Mcloughlins Beach and Yarram has 2 pubs and 1 service's
club with pokies and great meals, also Yarram has award winning
bakery and 2 supermarkets, hardware centre and also during holiday
season a cinema.
Tarra Valley and Bulga state forest National
Park is only 30-Min drive from Yarram with rain forest bush
walks and large suspension bridge also enjoy Devonshire tea with
breath taking views of the Stresleskii Mountains.
Sale and the Latrobe Valley is only 50min drive with full range
of special shops and cinema's, Pubs, Service R.S.L Clubs and Bowling
clubs.
Port Albert is an historical town ship that
dates back over 150 years with a deep habour and Hotel, museam,
general store.
I suggest you try the Old Customs house next to the pub, this was
converted and restored into a fish & chip shop - caf'e with
superb views of the bay.
Wilsons Promentry is only 1 hour drive from
