Back
Our first trip away in our new caravan. From Narrandera to Echuca we spent 2 nights in Echuca visiting Kay and seeing the sights.
Then onto Minyip to see Ray and Sandra.
Next it was off to Donald to spend the night, we found a nice little caravan park and set up then went and had a look around town. Found a second hand shop and I got a bit of crystal.
Off to Swan Hill now a very nice place but the caravan parks are a bit expensive there. Did the sights got some crystal from an antique shop. On Saturday morning we packed up and went to the Church boot sales.
Now it is off to Deniliquin we had a look around a few garage sales I got a bit of crystal. We decided not to stay in Deniliquin as there are no markets on Sunday so we headed home.
Although a short trip we had a great time. Will have to take more photos of places in the future. We will be ready to take a longer trip next time.
We are off to South Australia on the 28 October will spend about 2 weeks traveling around.

Minyip

A small country town population of about 500 is located in the wheat-growing shire of Dunmunkle. Is well known as Coopers Crossing where they did the Flying Doctors television series. We call in here to visit some chat friends Ray and his wife Sandra.

Donald

Attractive service town on the banks of the Richardson River
Donald is a town of some 1700 people laid out around a serpentine stretch of the Richardson River which is popular with local anglers. It is located 259 km northwest of Melbourne on the Sunraysia Highway and 118 m above sea-level. A neat and tidy town, it is essentially a service centre to the surrounding district where wheat, barley, fat lambs and wool are the main produce, although there has been some recent diversification into peas, canola, safflower and other crops. The massive wheat silos bear testimony to the central economic preoccupation of the Wimmera district. Donald is known as the 'Home of the Duck' due to the prevalence of the waterbird on local waterways and the annual duck-shoot held in their honour. Perhaps another factor was the irresistible connection with that famous Walt Disney character.

Swan hill

Giant Murray Cod 11 m long and 6 m wide, the 'cod' signifies the local popularity of fishing on the Murray. It is located in Curlewis St, adjacent the railway station. Children can sit inside the mouth of this old movie prop for a photograph.

Deniliquin

Large service centre surrounded by rivers and lagoons.
Deniliquin is a town of 7895 persons on the Edward River, a branch of the Murray River which was created by a fault in the earth's surface. Unusually, within the town, a series of lagoons snake off into parkland and state forest, and a footbridge across a creek opposite the town hall in Cressy St leads to an island wildlife sanctuary.
